In many states, if you let your gift card expire, it goes to the government: http://tr.im/qpzV What do they do with $17 million at Old Navy?

Best take on the MSM and Michael Jackson coverage goes to Mike Lester: http://www.cagle.com/wor…

Wow, the WWDC videos are already up! That is quite speedy and unusual for Apple.

via Twitter for iPhone

@Dannabug Clearly the news resonated with people since that’s about all I saw on Twitter and Facebook.

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to Dannabug

@kristabellerina My favorite is Twitter Tools. It has very nice per-post and general integrations. Very configurable also.

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to kristabellerina

@Dannabug Or rather what the liberal media would prefer to feed us…

John Stossel’s report on ObamaCare for 20/20 is postponed on account of Michael Jackson’s death. ABC delaying a critique of the plan? No way

@dclevitt It’s the nature of power. If you hand someone a whip to control others and they use it, they’re profoundly, inevitably changed.

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to dclevitt

@dclevitt Yeah, they posture as if they weren’t power lusters but I’ve yet to encounter a politician who wasn’t corrupted by power some way.

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to dclevitt

@dclevitt Oh they see it clearly. They see it as they saw the potential of FNMA etc. It’s a way to wield indirect power w/o accountability.

This story is bizarre but fascinating: http://bit.ly/15aB4z

I finally made a decent batch of mac and cheese, only to ruin it when the pepper grinder’s lid came off and dumped pepper balls everywhere.

via Twitter for iPhone

@TornadoDesign Yes, the Ringling Brothers one and it was incredible.

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to TornadoDesign

On my way to The Greatest Show on EArth!

I’d say that the iPhone code signing process gets a bad rap. I guess those whiners just aren’t comfortable hand-editing pbxproj files. Easy.

via Twitter for iPhone

Looks like our janitors have a little something on the side (they sure picked the right place for it): http://twitpic.com/89627

via Twitter for iPhone

On a completely related note, why oh why did Apple make the iPhone and Mac OS X versions of Security.framework syntactically different. Why!

via Twitter for iPhone

I need to go iPhone OS 3.0 only: all these stupid TARGET_IPHONE_SIMULATOR compiler directives are really messing with my code’s aesthetic.

via Twitter for iPhone

I just want to yell out “ICSHARP not IC or IOBJC.” But then I think about the inherent reward of the challenge. So I just twhine. Like now.

via Twitter for iPhone

Facebook keeps suggesting Caterina Fake for a friend. What algorithm on earth would put us closer than six degrees? Are we related somehow?

via Twitter for iPhone

Good luck omen for the day: *TWO* vegetable packets in my Nissin Chicken Chow Mein. That’s TWICE the freeze-dried, dehydrated chicken bits!

via Twitter for iPhone

RT @haltse: defeating socialism” near “USA” did not match any volunteering activities their search engine is missing options;) [Hee hee]

via Twitter for iPhone

@snej just made my certificate life a little easier. I get the sense that Apple is not doing the same for him regarding MYCrypto.

via Twitter for iPhone

I am sick to death of certificates. I liked it better when they were just those things that underlay SSL. *sigh*

via Twitter for iPhone

@dclevitt I believe the open-mouthed gape I’m fielding is the result of the band Cake soliciting crowd participation and me complying. Heh.

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to dclevitt

Wow, I’m on the header image of the WWDC09 attendee page (bottom left corner): http://tr.im/pmCx

via Twitter for iPhone

@leximaven There’s one other explanation (the movie hasn’t started production yet): “have you read Atlas” is the new “who is John Galt.”

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to leximaven

Huge stack of Atlas Shrugged at Costco caught me offguard: never thought I’d see Ayn Rand sold like Patterson or Evanovich.

My wife told me about hiding stories on Facebook’s News Feed—it’s suddenly becoming worth visiting again. That Hide By App is delightful.

via Twitter for iPhone

@JivaDeVoe It’s got 256 MB (double that of the earlier models).

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to JivaDeVoe

I haven’t called our NOC in such a long time. It kind of makes me nostalgic for the Quick Blog deployments. Kind of—for a split second.

via Twitter for iPhone

@prissycook Did you see this app for the Pre? It’s enough to make me want to buy one: http://bit.ly/NauRm

via Twitter for iPhone

@dwatkins3 Also, Meltzer’s history is the definitive one (chapter 3 is free): http://bit.ly/42qHu

It took me less than two hours to re-create from memory what originally took me ~10 hours. Lesson: check in *THEN* undo pending changes.

@sanbient I don’t know where to get it, but I bet Kale would look good in this: http://imgur.com/o80VX.j…

Favorite iPhone OS 3.0 feature so far: showing currently playing artist and song on the unlock screen.

via Twitter for iPhone

How to turn on tethering for AT&T: http://tr.im/oS03 I can’t believe all the people who are pleading for help in mounting a disk image.

via Twitter for iPhone

Apple called an iPhone developer about a problem? And asked for a new binary to address it? Could the badwill have worked? http://tr.im/oH22

via Twitter for iPhone

I love Clang (probably more than one should love a static analyzer), but it feels like cheating. But I guess the same could be said of IDEs.

“To know what you prefer, instead of humbly saying ‘Amen’ to what the world tells you you ought to prefer, is to have kept your soul alive.”

via Twitter for iPhone

Decoupling can be a challenge, but it is so worth it.

via Twitter for iPhone

I just froze my iPhone by tapping the “Now” button the WWDC app. Date processing is not hard, Apple developer.

via Twitter for iPhone

An hour and a half delay on flight out of SFO. Southwest is really getting on my nerves.

via Twitter for iPhone

The Facebook username land rush is imminent. Will I be able to get my chosen name—billbrown213582? Here’s hoping!

via Twitter for iPhone

I decided to check out a SF landmark bookstore and picked out City Lights. OMFG! This ain’t my scene, to put it mildly.

via Twitter for iPhone

@peterbromberg Make sure you do a chapter about its effect on personal responsibility. The effects of dependence go deep.

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to peterbromberg

For future reference, you can *definitely* leave WWDC on Friday. I’ve now got about 20 hours to kill in San Francisco.

via Twitter for iPhone

The band turned out to be cake, who I’ve heard of but never heard: http://twitpic.com/766ap

via Twitter for iPhone

At the WWDC Bash, I’ve got a great seat (or whatever its analog is when you’re standing) for whoever is going to play. I’m also stuffed.

via Twitter for iPhone

Really digging the one-click WordPress upgrade. With the daily database backup, it’s never been easier to manage the four installs I handle.

via Twitter for iPhone

At Twitter HQ. It is about exactly what I thought it’d be like.

via Twitter for iPhone

At the OpenGL ES session, my ignorance of this whole area of programming is palpable. Sorry, but no FPS from BillSoft anytime soon.

via Twitter for iPhone

The prototyping session was fantastic. I would recommend the video when it comes out.

via Twitter for iPhone

Pretty sure I just saw John Gruber. I’m glad I didn’t have to talk as I’d be torn between vomiting in revulsion and heaping effusive praise.

via Twitter for iPhone

VPN over wireless to VNC to my desk to get to my Windows VM to edit a text file on a network share is slow. I blame the wireless at WWDC.

via Twitter for iPhone

@JivaDeVoe I’m in that session and I share both sentiments. I’m just letting the CA wash over me and hoping that some will come back later.

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to JivaDeVoe

@PrissyCook More or less. I think Android would have served you better in that regard. ;-)

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to PrissyCook

@mwickens Congratulations! How many computers does that make you possessing?

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to mwickens

@Carnage4Life I sure do but it was never about The Social for me. I like always-available, easily-searchable bookmarks.

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to Carnage4Life

I had forgotten how splendidly cool is iChat video conferencing (I’m an Adium guy). I just got off a delightful video chat with my family.

via Twitter for iPhone

@JivaDeVoe Already covered OpenGL, OpenCL, and QuickTime X. If you’re into audio, maybe.

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to JivaDeVoe

The street guy pretty much decided the waiting in line at Moscone issue, by the way.

via Twitter for iPhone

Deranged street guy cursing me vigorously from across the street: check! Thank goodness for the hotel bouncer. Dude I wasn’t stalking you

via Twitter for iPhone

Less than 10 people camped in front of Moscone West. Will I join them? Not bloody likely.

via Twitter for iPhone

Finally getting ready to board. An hour and a half later than expected. Very disappointed at Southwest Airlines.

via Twitter for iPhone

@hohle Never mind. I found it. How much did localization (translating all those languages) cost you? ;-)

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to hohle

Took a nap for an hour and a half. I never take naps ever. This does not bode well for WWDC at all. Can you put 12-packs in checked luggage?

via Twitter for iPhone

@dclevitt Yeah, I was skeptical but intrigued. I think this could be really big if there’s follow-through.

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to dclevitt

I finally get Google Wave, thanks to the best analysis of it that I’ve yet seen: http://tr.im/nqUX

via Twitter for iPhone

@Carnage4Life My co-worker found a query that was somewhat useful: http://tr.im/nlzj But it’s still less useful than the Google Local one.

via Twitter for iPhone in reply to Carnage4Life

@Carnage4Life It is absolutely terrible. I tried for domain registrar: http://bit.ly/S012m

Signed up for the iPhone Intelligence and iPhone Launch Party events at WWDC. I’m not much of a party-goer, but when in Rome…

via Twitter for iPhone

Developer Forum got me the spot-on answer within two hours. StackOverflow got me a very-close answer within 20 minutes. Not too shabby.

via Twitter for iPhone

I’ve admitted defeat on this UIImage problem and actually posted my plight to the Developer Forums. Anyone want to bet that Eskimo1 replies?

@mclazarus Have you checked out Instapaper? It seems to address that purpose. http://www.instapaper.co…

Did you know that .ico files are not all 16x16? http://tr.im/n6Qs, for example, includes four sizes to 48x48. It’s killing me table cells.
