The Pre *is* going to be an iPhone killer since it includes a mirror for the ladies: http://tr.im/mJt9 (CTRL+F for “mirror”)
@dclevitt I knew *you* would understand!
The downside of the whole team of one thing is that when you’ve done something really clever there’s no one to share it with.
Oh, in case anyone wants to be my neighbor: http://tr.im/mHZG
Wow, the huge home across the street from me is selling for $115K less than they paid. Youch!
Google Wave intrigues, confuses, alarms, and astounds me all at the same time: http://tr.im/mHKa
@wildfiction But they excel at getting out warning letters, following up on assessments, and convincing HOAs to pay their management fee.
My five-year old daughter has been stockpiling water bottles for some reason: http://twitpic.com/5ydh4
People should never tell me that or where they keep their emergency Snickers at work. I’m prone to abuse that trust.
Yeehaw!!!! Back in business!
Booti g from restored image. Come on, come on, come on!
Is there anything more dull than watching progress bars?
@JivaDeVoe I did and it is such a relief opening a new class now. I’m a BSD brace man myself so I even went in and redid all of the macros.
In my 13 years of owning Macs, this is the first hard drive failure I’ve ever had. I guess I’ve just been very lucky. Back up daily, people!
The Friday before a Tuesday demo my hard drive died! This is what I’m doing today: http://twitpic.com/5uwi9
I couldn’t get BOOL value from a NSDictionary created by SBJSON. So I looked: the framework uses NSNumber. Source is the best documentation.
Breakthrough! I’ve got a mobile device successfully talking to a WCF service. Case sensitivity eats yet another man-hour.
@billbrown For example, aside from the obligatory forest of weeds, I saw a coyote wandering the backlot. Insert facile “stealership” joke.
Just walked through an abandoned dealership. It’s amazing how quickly nature has reclaimed it.
Fly gets trapped in microwave inadvertently for 60 seconds. Surprisingly, he was perfectly fine at the end. I mean, until I FINISHed HIM!
One of the best parts of my day is when one of my kids raptly asks me the following at dinner: “Did you have any meetings today?”
Apple’s samples to the contrary, don’t use AppDelegate: use a singleton. A-doy! http://tr.im/lVPu
Tuned in to NPR today for 1st time in months only to hear this yahoo field a call about the prescience of Atlas Shrugged: http://tr.im/lUUW
“Nerd-adjacent” and “secret MINI Driver’s Club”: nice! http://tr.im/lTK8 (also, MINI Driver. Minnie Driver. Just got that.)
Dollhouse and Better Off Ted got renewed. Yay! http://tr.im/lTFB
@haltse That’s true, but it’s not specific enough for my purposes. They’re definitely that term, though.
I prefer “social media douchebag” but apropos of http://tr.im/lO1D maybe I can elevate the discourse: is “social median” disparaging enough?
I am so tempted to send this link to some lady who suggested I buy a $200 piece of software to do pretty flowcharts: http://tr.im/lNZm
I finally have a strong desire to buy OmniGraffle. And I finally looked at the price. $99.95: yowch! I guess crappy Visio will have to do.
Something’s lost when everyone’s a self-declared “nerd” or “geek.” On the one hand, yay for technical ubiquity. On other, long September.
@wildfiction That’s a good question. I can understand stale data (a month, maybe a quarter), but 18 month old data is weird.
@sanbient No. In fact, I’m considering cancelling my membership at renewal time. I just can’t say it’ll be a priority anytime soon.
Sweet mama pajama! 3.9 MB for a iPhone static library?! I guess no Protocol Buffers for Bill then.
Working on performance review at last minute. “Solid Performer” *is* a lot more palatable than “5 of 8.”
I just received a iPhone Developer Program Renewal notice. Uhh, where did it say that it was an annual fee? DAMN IT!
HamCam, I love it!! http://tr.im/lhwC
Best Clang setup tutorial I’ve found: http://tr.im/lcky
@siracusa Commenters saying “apps are fast enough now” miss the point: there are more apps that aren’t being made because of speed limit.
Freezer at work; maybe someone knows something I don’t: http://twitpic.com/51f6j
I just had a really close call. Luckily, I swerved quickly enough to prevent a huge UI pile up.
Listening to @drbobparsons share war stories. Freaking hot in this tent though.
My ritual before the talk is total personal avoidance and constant content revision. I’m not sure why I put myself through this #gdtechfest
At #gdtechfest for the day. Looks like it’s going to bigger than last year, which is a great thing.
@ironicsans I’m biased because I work there, but I was a customer long before I started. Pros: 24/7 phone customer service, cheap, stable.
@billbrown The unfortunate thing is that I thought this demo was for my boss’s boss. I would’ve spent a lot more time polishing had I known.
Boss’s boss is showing my demo app to the EVP. It’s quite shallow and, um, crash-y. I like to think of it as suggestive of its future self.
@sanbient There’s an inherent prioritization in software development. Also, Apple doesn’t explain anything—it’s none of our business.
@sanbient It’s in the 3.0 release, slated for this summer.
@AttyJones Tripartisan? Like a new party?
I’m done with the Mother’s Day shopping for my wife. 5 days before the holiday. This has got to be a record for me. #goodthing
@mwickens Congratulations! I *must* do that with mine. How long did it take?
Somehow me and my four toddlers achieved invisibility whilst in two separate store lines today. I can understand me but the kids are flitty.
I just discovered that I can’t walk and play FlightControl at the same time.
