@sanbient We had one at one point and sold it to some unsuspecting sap. The bag refills are outrageous.

1/22/2009: the day when my DSL goes fiber optic and I get over two times my current speed for the same price. I am so excited!

Most people see New Year’s as the start of a new year. I see it as a countdown: three weeks to the Season 5 Lost premiere.

via web

@wildfiction Ooo, I am glad for that. Thanks!

@dclevitt That seems eminently reasonable.

Ugh, harassment training is *not* the thing I needed first thing on my first day back.

@PrissyCook Congratulations! ‘Bout time!!

I go to work tomorrow. I go to work tomorrow! Work. Tomorrow. Yeah, it sounds weird.

Just set up AdSense for Domains on 22 of my parked domains. GoDaddy.com could not have made it any easier. Awesome!

Watching a bizarre yet fascinating documentary on a ferret show and the people who participate: http://tr.im/2ntq Really not getting it.

I don’t know how the person (or team) that makes Littlest Pet Shop packaging sleeps at night. For shame!

via web

A reader is offended that I used the word “turd” in a blog entry. I don’t know how the guy manages his bubble, but I’m impressed.

via web

Also, finally getting around to reading State of Fear. Halfway through after a day and lovin’ it!

Got the MacBook hooked up to the TV finally. It cost $40 but I can stream Netflix perfectly! I haven’t tried Hulu etc. yet.

Every time I get a Diet Mountain Dew at QT, I see red when I put on the lid. And I always think I accidentally got Code Red. Every time.

It appears (from my online banking) that I won $1,000 at the Go Daddy holiday party. It seems a little disconnected since I didn’t attend.

via web

Wow, those are some chatty coyotes behind my house. Keep it down, I’m trying to write a blog entry!

Last bag retrieved from the airport. Definitely not United’s fault even though every bag was found and never left possession of same. Natch.

via web

@peterbromberg I think Django’s ORM is boss in that regard.

@dclevitt Not working so much as not entered. :-) Fixed.

@PrissyCook Curse me and my three-week vacation!

@sanbient Awesome in the sense of wanting to scream at every rep you get on the phone? Definitely!

Seriously, we arrived in Addis on 12/2 and got the first of our luggage on 12/10. None ever spent a moment in Addis. Ipso facto: delayed.

via web

Heck, we’re even having trouble getting them to admit that our luggage was delayed (for insurance purposes). It’s infuriating and enraging.

via web

At least we don’t have to try to file a lost luggage claim. Every airline says that other ones are at fault, so a claim was impossible.

via web

They’ve finally found the last of our luggage! It’s in Dubai. So our four pieces went everywhere but Addis Ababa: Brussels, DC, Dubai. Fun.

via web

@dclevitt Thanks for reminding me! It was a hard pregnancy but I can’t believe it’s already 3.

I can still win prizes at #gdparty even if I don’t attend, right? Please say “right.”

via web

Sigh, missing out on all the #gdparty action tonight. Stupid State Department and their moving up of appointments. Grr.

via web

@PrissyCook Inside scoop. How droll. But it’s hard to think about delicious ice cream when I’m staring at a pair of dirty feet. Heh.

@PrissyCook Drunk with power at the happy hour.

via web in reply to PrissyCook

@dclevitt Thank you! It’s good to be back.

via web in reply to dclevitt

@sanbient Everything is grand! The trip was incredible. Here are my initial thoughts: http://tr.im/216a

@redmonk That’s very true. Our family is finally complete. Time to start the next phase of life!

I can’t even begin to describe how glad I am to be back home. Phoenix, America, my house. It feels like I’ve resumed my regular life again.

And I’m back in the First World. Time to get caught back up with the Internet. Apparently, a lot happened while I was gone.
